Cabbage Kootu


Ingredients

Cabbage-1/2
Channa dhal-1/2cup
Oil-2tablespoon
Green chilli-1
Onion-1
Tomato-1
Mustard-1/4tablespoon
Urad dhal-1/4table spoon
Cumin-1/4tablespoon
Garlic-2 pods
Turmeric powder-a pinch
Corriander powder-1tablespoon
Chilli powder-1/4tablespoon
Salt-as required

Method
  • Boil channa dhal,garlic in water until it is fully cooked.
  • Chop onions,cabbage,tomatoes,green chilli.
  • In a kadai,pour oil,add mustard,urad dhal,cumin.
  • When it starts popping add Onion,green chilli.
  • Once the onion gets transparent,add cabbage,tomato.
  • When cabbage is half cooked,add turmeric,chilli,corriander powder,salt.
  • When cabbage is fully cooked add channal dhal.
  • Garnish with corriander leaves.
Tip
Cocunut paste can be added to reduce spicy kootu.
