Ingredients
Bottle Gourd-1
Channa dhal-1cup
Onion-1
Mustard-1/4tablespoon
Urad dhal-1/4tablespoon
Hing-a pinch
Curry leaves-few
Oil-1tablespoon
Salt-as required
For Grinding
Coconut-1/2cup
Green chilli-4
Cumin-1/4tablespoon
Method
- Pressure cook channa dhal until it becomes soft.
- Peel the skin of surakkai/Bottle gourd and cut into cubes.
- Boil surakkai/Bottle gourd in water until it is half cooked.(it can be pressure cooked with dhal too)
- Grind coconut,green chilli,cumin into fine paste.
- In a kadai,add oil,mustard,urad dhal,hing.
- When it starts popping add onion,curry leaves.
- When onion gets transparent,add the grinded paste,channa dhal,boiled bottle gourd/surakkai,salt.
- Cook until the consistency becomes thick.
Tip
This recepie can be served with chappathi,plain rice.
