Semiya Kichadi(Vermicilli Upma)


Ingredients
Semiya(Vermicilli)-2cups
Mustard-1/4tablespoon
Urad dhal-1/4tablespoon
Channa dhal-1/4tablespoon
Green chillies-2 or 3
Curry leaves-few
Onion-1
Tomato-1/2
Vegetables-carrot,peas,beans(1cup)
Oil-2tablespoon
Ghee-1/2tablespoon
Salt-as required


Method
  • In a pan,add 1tablespoon of oil,add the semiya(Vermicilli) and fry for few minutes until it turns brown,keep it aside
  • Boil the chopped vegetables in water until it is half cooked.
  • In a kadai,add oil,ghee,mustard,urad dhal,channa dhal.
  • When it starts popping,add onion,curry leaves,green chillies.
  • When onion gets transparent,add boiled vegetables,tomato,salt and cook for few minutes and add 2  1/2 cup of water.
  • When water starts boiling add the fried semiya(Vermicilli).
  • Cook until the  semiya(vermicilli) is done.
Tip
Ginger Garlic paste,turmeric powder can be added to make it more spicy.
