Masala Dosa

Ingredients

For Dosa
Idli Rice-2cups
Urad dhal-1/2cup
Fenugreek-1/2tablespoon
Salt-as required

For masala
Potato-2
Onion-1
Tomato-1
Curry leaves-few
Green chillies-2
Mustard-1/4tablespoon
Urad dhal-1/4tablespoon
Channa dhal-1/4tablespoon
Cumin-1/4tablespoon
Garlic-2 n.o
Turmeric powder-1/4tablespoon
Corriander leaves-few
Salt-as required
Oil-2tablespoon

Method 

Dosa
  • Soak rice and urad dhal,fenugreek  in water for 4hours seperately.
  • Grind it into fine paste.
  • Ferment the batter for 1day.

Masala
  • Peel the skin of potatoes and boil in water until soft.
  • In a kadai,add oil,mustard,urad dhal,cumin,channa dhal,garlic.
  • When it starts popping,add onion,green chillies,curry leaves.
  • When onion gets transparent then add tomato,turmeric powder.
  • Add boiled potatoes when tomatoes gets mushy.
  • Cook until the potatoes gets fully binded with sauted masala.
  • Garnish with corriander leaves.

  • Heat tawa,apply oil.
  • Pour one big ladle of batter at the center and spread it out.
  • Pour a tablespoon of oil around the dosa.
  • Place a spoon of potato masala on the center of dosa.
  • Fold the dosa and remove it,do not flip the other side.
Tip
This dosa can be served with sambar and coconut chutney.
