Thalicha sadam(Onion rice)


Ingredients
Rice-1cup
Oil-2tablespoon
Onion-1
Green chilli-2
Mustard-1/4tablespoon
Urad dhal-1/4tablespoon
Cumin-1/4tablespoon
Turmeric-1/4tablespoon
Curryleaves-few
Salt-as required

Method
  • Boil rice and allow it to cool for few minutes.
  • Heat oil in kadai,add mustard,urad dhal,cumin.
  • When it starts popping,add onion,greenchilli,curry leaves.
  • Once onion gets transparent add turmeric,salt and cook for few minutes.
  • Mix it with boiled rice.
  • Garnish with corriander leaves.
Tip
This rice variety goes well with sambar,puli kulambu(tamarind curry).
If we need spicy garlic flakes can also be added.
