Sundal (Spicy Chick Peas)


Ingredients
Kondakadali(Chick peas)-1cup
Coconut gratings-2tablespoon
Green chilli-1 or 2
Ginger-a small pod
Oil-1tablespoon
Salt-asrequired

For seasoning
Mustard-1/4tablespoon
Urad dhal-1/4tablespoon
Curry leaves-few
Red chilli-1 or 2
Hing-a pinch

Method
  • Soak chick peas in water overnight say for about 10hours.
  • Pressure cook chick peas with pinch of salt until it is soft.
  • Grind coconut gratings,boiled chick peas,greenchilli,ginger into fine paste.
  • In a kadai,add oil,mustard,urad dhal,red chilli,curry leaves,hing.
  • When starts popping,add grinded paste,cook for few minutes.
  • Add the boiled chickpeas.
Tip
Grated carrot,raw mango,grated coconut,lemon juice can be added to make it more tasty.
