Spinach kootu


Ingredients

Spinach leaves-1cup
Moong dhal-1/2 cup
Oil-2tablespoon
Onion-1/2
Tomato-1
Green chilli-3
Chilli powder-1/2tablespoon
Sambar powder-1/2tablespoon
Turmeric powder-a pinch
Salt-as required

For grinding
Grated coconut-1/2cup
Cumin seed-1/4tablespoon

Seasoning
Mustard-1/4tablespoon
Red chili-2
Hing-pinch
Cumin seed-1/4tablespoon
Curry leaves-few
Corriander leaves-few


Method
  •  Pressure cook Moong dhal until it is boiled.
  •  Heat oil in kadai, add onion, tomato fry it until it gets transparent,then add spinach leaves. leave it for 5  mins in low flame.
  • Add chilli, sambar and turmeric powder.
  • Meanwhile,Grind coconut and cumin .
  • Now add moong dhal and coconut mixture.
  • Allow  it boil for few minutes.
  • Heat oil in another kadai,add mustard,cumin,redchilli,curryleaves,hing.
  • When it starts popping,add the already sauted mixture.
  • Garnish it with corriander leaves.
