Jeera Rice



Ingredients
Jeera/Cumin-2tablespoon
Green chilli-2
Saffron color-a pinch
Onion-1
Corriander leaves-few
Mint leaves-1/4 bunch
Ghee-3tablespoon
Basmathi rice-1cup
Salt-as required

Method
  • Soak basmathi rice in water for half-an-hour.
  • Slice onions and deep fry it in oil.
  • In a kadai,add ghee,jeera/cumin,green chilli,mint leaves,corriander leaves.
  • When it turns brown add salt and mix it with  basmathi rice.
  • Pressure cook with 1 1/2cup of water.
  • When the water is absorbed fully,add the fried onion.
  • Mix the saffron color in water,top it of in rice,leave it for another 2minutes and mix well.
Tip
This variety rice can be served with spicy gravies,raita.
