Ingredients
Riceflour-2cups
Salt-as required
For seasoning
Mustard-1/4tablespoon
Cumin-1/4tablespoon
Urad dhal-1/4tablespoon
Green chilli-1 or 2
Turmeric powder-1/4tablespoon
Hing-a pinch
Curryleaves-few
Lemonjuice-1/4cup
Method
- Boil water and add it to the riceflour little by little till it becomes a thick batter.
- Add oil in idiyappam plate.Take a small quantity of dough and put it in the Idiyappam maker. Press on the greased plate circle wise.
- Steam it for 5 minutes.
- Meanwhile,heat oil in kadai add mustard,cumin,urad dhal.
- When starts popping add green chilli,curryleaves,turmeric powder,salt.
- Add lemonjuice,allow it to boil for few minutes.
- Mix it with idiyappam.
- Garnish with corriander leaves.
Tip
Channa dhal,Peanuts can be added to make it more delicious.
Sugar,coconut gratings,caradmon powder alone can be added to plain idiyappam to make sweet idiyappam.
