Ingredients
Chow Chow-1
Green Gram dhal(Pacha Payir)-1/2cup
Oil-2tablespoon
Onion-1
Sambar powder-1tablespoon
Turmeric powder-1/4tablespoon
Mustard-1/4tablespoon
Urad dhal-1/4tablespoon
Curry leaves-few
Hing-a pinch
Salt-as required
For Grinding
Cumin-1/4tablespoon
Coconut gratings-2tablespoon
Green chilli-2
Method
- Peel the skin of chayote,cut into cubes.
- Boil chayote with turmeric,sambar powder,hing until it the vegetable is cooked.
- Boil green gram dhal in another vessel until it is cooked.
- Grind cumin,green chilli,coconut gratings into fine paste.
- In a kadai,pour oil,add mustard,urad dhal,curry leaves.
- When it starts popping,add onion,when it turns brown, mix chow chow,grinded paste,green gram dhal.
- Boil the mixture until it is fully cooked.
