Beetroot Poriyal


Ingredients

Beetroot-2
Carrot-1
Onion-1/2
Mustard-1/4tablespoon
Urad dhal-1/4tablespoon
Cumin-1/4tablespoon
Red chilli-1 or 2 depending on the size
Hing-a pinch
Salt-as required
Oil-1tablespoon

Method
  • Finely grate Beetroot,carrot using grater.
  • In a kadai,pour oil,add mustard,uraddhal,cumin, when it starts popping add red chilli,onion.
  • When onion get transparent add Beetroot,Hing,salt.
  • Allow beetroot to cook in low flame until it is soft.
  • Garnish with caarrot,coconut if needed.
