Ingredients
Black peppercorns(Milagu)-1tablespoon
Cumin-1tablespoon
Garlic-5 no
Pearl onion-15
Mustard-1/4tablespoon
Urad dhal-1/4tablespoon
Curry leaves-few
Corriander powder-1tablespoon
Turmeric powder-1/4tablespoon
Tamarind juice-1cup
Salt-as required
Oil-2tablespoon
Method
- In a kadai add 1/2 tablespoon of oil,fry pepper corns,cumin,garlic seperately.
- Grind the fried ingredients into fine paste.
- In a pan,add oil,mustard,urad dhal.
- When it starts popping,add onion,curry leaves.
- When onion gets transparent add turmeric,corriander powder,tamarind juice.
- Add 1/4cup of water,allow it to boil.
- When it becomes semi gravy,add the grinded paste.
- Cook for another 2minutes.
Tip
This recepie goes well with plain rice,papads.
