Ingredients
Buttermilk(Mor)-1cup
Turmeric powder-1/4table spoon
Curry leaves-few
Mustard-few
Urad dhal(Ulundam parupu)-few
Red chili-1
For grinding
Raw rice-1tablespoon
Toordhal(Thuvaram paruppu)-1tablespoon
Cumin (Seraham)-1/4table spoon
Green chilli-3
Ginger-small piece
Coconut gratings-2tablespoon.
Method
- Soak raw rice,toor dhal,cumin in water for 1hour.
- Grind the other ingredients along with raw rice and toor dhal into a fine paste.
- Add the fine grinded paste to buttermilk with a pinch of turmeric powder, salt and water if it is too thick.
- In a kadai pour oil add mustard,urad dhal,red chilli,curry leaves when it starts popping add the buttermilk mixture.
- Garnish with corriander leaves.
Tip
Vegetables like Ash gourd(Pusanikai),Lady's finger can be added.
If vegetables are to be added ,cook it until soft with pinch of turmeric powder then add onion,tomato and the buttermilk.
Urad dhal (Ulunda vadai)vadas can also be added to mor kulambu.
