Sepankilangu Poriyal(Taro root masala)


Ingredients
Taro root/Sepankilangu-7
Mustard-1/4tablespoon
Urad dhal-1/4tablespoon
Channa dhal-1/4tablespoon
Garlic-3pods
Onion-1
Curry leaves-few
Turmeric-1/4tablespoon
Sambar powder-3tablespoon
Corriander leaves-few
Salt-as required
Oil-4tablespoon

Method
  • Boil taro root/sepan kilangu with turmeric powder in water until it is 3/4th cooked.
  • Peel the skin and cut them into cubes.
  • Chop garlic,onion finely.
  • In a pan,add oil,mustard,urad dhal,channa dhal,garlic.
  • When it starts popping,add onion,curry leaves.
  • When onion gets transparent add sambar powder,turmeric powder,salt.
  • Add taro root/sepan kilangu when the raw smell goes off,
  • Cook it in low flame until it gets fried.
  • Garnish with corriander leaves.
