Vegetable Idiyappam


Ingredients
Riceflour-2cups
Salt-as required

For seasoning
Garlic-2pods
Onion-1
Tomato-1
Caabage,Carrot,Potato-1cup
Chilli powder-1/2tablespoon
Turmeric powder-1/4tablespoon
Salt-as required
Oil-2tablespoon


Method
  • Boil water and add it to the riceflour little by little till it becomes a thick batter.
  • Add oil in idiyappam plate.Take a small quantity of dough and put it in the Idiyappam maker. Press on the greased plate circle wise.
  • Steam it for 5 minutes.
  • Keep it aside for few minutes,then tear idiyappam into small pieces.
  • Cut carrot,cabbage,potato into small pieces.
  • Boil it for few minutes until it is half done.
  • In a kadai,add oil,chopped garlic,onion.
  • When onion gets transparent,add cooked vegetables,chopped tomato,chilli,turmeric powder,salt.
  • Cook until all the veggies are fully done.
  • Mix the sauted masala with the idiyappam.
  • Garnish with corriander leaves.
Tip
Red chillies can be fried in oil for few minutes, grinded and then it can be used instead of chilli powder,it tastes good.
