Since it is freezing down here..I felt like having hot and spicy soup...as there are endless possibilities to make soup with, i choose lentils simple ingredient on hand, healthy and nutritious....
Ingredients
Lentils-1/2cup
Cumin-1/2 tablespoon
Carrots-1cup
Beans-1/2cup
Celery-1cup
Tomato-3
Ginger-1/2 inch
Turmeric-1/4 tablespoon
Black peeper-1/2ablespoon
Garam masala-1/2tablespoon
Lemon-2tablespoon
Butter/Oil-2 tablespoon
Salt-as required
Method
- Soak the lentils in water for 1hour.
- In a pressure cooker,add butter,cumin.
- When cumin starts spluttering,add ginger,turmeric powder,garam masala.
- Add beans,carrot,celeries,tomatoes,pepper,salt.
- Cook for few minutes, add 3 cups of water and pressure cook for about one whistle.
- Before serving squeeze lemon juice.
